Cramps

From the 37th week on, cramps are no longer dangerous and can be a sign that the baby is already being born. The contractions after the waters break usually cause very strong pain in pregnancy that lasts for hours. Some women choose to receive a small dose of painkiller for relief.

Tips to prevent cramps during pregnancy
Back pain
Back pain in pregnancy occurs because, as your belly is getting heavier and your breasts are getting larger, you tend to bend forward and cannot maintain good posture. At the end of the day, these pains are often greater. A sign that the weight of the baby is influencing the muscles. Back massage and a relaxing bath can relieve the symptoms well. Just don’t take medication without your doctor’s advice.
Pain in the kidney area can mean a more serious urinary tract infection. If your urine smells strong and if it hurts every time you go to the bathroom, see your doctor.
Yoga and walking can prevent such pain in pregnancy. They help you to relax and strengthen your back muscles. Some pregnant women like to wear a support belt.
Paying attention to the mattress, pillows, and sleeping position is also an idea. When the belly is already too big, sleeping on the side and using a pillow under it can prevent pain in pregnancy.

Pain in the legs
Some cramps are common during this phase. The enlargement of the veins can make circulation difficult, so invest in potassium intake. Swelling may be normal for the same reason. It is a reflection of poor circulation and the increase of estrogen in the body.
Be aware if you have a family history of thrombosis. Some thrombosis is caused by thrombophilia, which is a congenital characteristic that facilitates the appearance of thrombi in the veins, even if you take care of yourself and have your weight under control.
Physical activity helps blood circulation, so don’t leave it out. Putting your feet up for about 30 minutes, with a support that makes them higher than your head, helps a lot with circulation and swelling.
If these pains are constant, let your doctor know and see if it is not a good idea to have your circulation checked. Also watch out if it gets to the point where you have trouble walking. In this case, go to an emergency room and get checked immediately. A blood clot can also cause pulmonary embolism and put you and your baby’s health at risk.
Breast pain
Breast tissues are undergoing transformation to prepare your body for breastfeeding. Hormones, such as prolactin, are at their peak in order to produce milk. Thus, the breasts swell up and become very painful indeed. In the first trimester, these pains are usually more intense, but as gestation goes by, they tend to diminish.
The retention of liquids is another factor that contributes to the increase of this discomfort. You can do massages with natural oils, such as almond oil, to relieve the symptoms. Wearing the specific bra will help with the support.
Stomach aches
It is common for digestion to become a little more difficult. The pressure of the growing baby on your organs is one reason. Many pregnant women complain of heartburn and feelings of poor digestion. Stomach pains are also part of these complaints.
Some doctors prescribe drugs that are considered milder, so as not to harm the baby’s development. If you feel uncomfortable, ask your doctor for further advice. Increase your water intake and also watch your diet. Very fatty foods tend to cause more discomfort, especially during this period.
Add physical activity to your routine to improve circulation and, consequently, digestion. Also be careful with food intolerances, which can cause those uncomfortable pains. Usually in a risk pregnancy, there are already some alarming factors that the doctor discovers in the beginning. So try to stay calm.
