- ½ cup boiling water
- ⅓ cup white sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, lemon juice, white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch. Mix well and pour into a greased baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, white sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the chilled grated butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the boiling water until the batter is well combined.
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter over the peach filling. Smooth it out as needed.
- In a small bowl, mix together the white sugar and cinnamon for the topping, and sprinkle it over the batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
