Ingredients

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • 3 tbsp garlic (minced)
  • 1 (1 oz) package dry onion soup mix
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine stew meat with salt, black pepper, and thyme.
  2. Add minced garlic and onion soup mix, mixing well to coat the beef.
  3. Transfer the meat mixture to the slow cooker and pour in beef broth, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the meat is tender.
  5. In the last 30 minutes of cooking, mix cornstarch with a little cold water to form a slurry and stir it into the slow cooker to thicken the gravy.
