- 3 tbsp canned pumpkin puree
- 2 tbsp raw cacao powder or Dutch-processed cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp natural peanut or almond butter
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp dairy-free chocolate chips or 1/2 oz square of dark chocolate bar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice
- 2 cups unsweetened soy milk or oat milk
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the canned pumpkin puree, cacao powder, nut butter, maple syrup, chocolate chips, vanilla extract, and pumpkin spice.
- Add the soy milk or oat milk to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, whisking constantly until heated through and all ingredients are well combined.
- Once hot, remove from heat and pour into mugs.
- Top with whipped cream or additional chocolate if desired, serve immediately, and enjoy!
Notes
For a sweeter hot chocolate, feel free to adjust the maple syrup according to your taste. You can also substitute the nut butters with tahini or sunflower seed butter for a nut-free version.
