Deliciously spiced Pumpkin French Toast Sticks that are perfect for breakfast or a sweet treat!
Ingredients

- 1 loaf french bread
- slightly stale
- 2–4 Tbsp. butter
- 4 eggs
- 2/3 cups milk
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/2 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice*
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, pumpkin puree, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice until well combined.
- Dip each slice of french bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side.
- In a skillet, melt 1-2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat and cook the dipped bread slices until golden brown on each side, about 3-4 minutes.
- Combine the sugar and cinnamon for the coating in a shallow dish. Once the toast sticks are cooked, coat them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Place the coated sticks on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes until they are heated through and slightly crispy.
- Serve warm with maple syrup, whipped cream, or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
For a homemade pumpkin pie spice, mix 3 Tbs. of ground cinnamon, 3 tsp. of nutmeg, 2 tsp. of ground ginger, 1 tsp. of ground allspice, and 1 tsp. of ground cloves.
