  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • NOT the entire can
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • NOT the entire can
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • AKA cornflour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and dark chocolate together, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat.
  3. Whisk in the granulated sugar until well combined, then add the whisked eggs and mix thoroughly.
  4. Stir in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined. Pour the brownie layer into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, evaporated milk, egg, vanilla extract, brown sugar, and spices. Whisk until smooth and well blended.
  6. Gently pour the pumpkin mixture over the brownie layer in the baking pan.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool in the pan before slicing into squares. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Make sure to use pure pumpkin puree for the best flavor. Serve with whipped cream for an extra treat!
