Description

This delicious Pear Jam is a delightful way to preserve the sweet and juicy flavor of fresh pears. Perfect for spreading on toast or using in desserts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 lbs Pears
  • peeled and chopped into 1/2 inch pieces
  • 3 cups Sugar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the chopped pears, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir well to mix all the ingredients.
  2. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens.
  4. Test the jam by placing a spoonful on a plate and letting it cool. If it holds its shape, it’s ready for canning.
  5. Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars, seal them, and let them cool completely before storing them in the fridge.

Notes

Make sure to use ripe pears for the best flavor. Adjust sugar to taste if you prefer a less sweet jam.
