Description

This delightful Pear Bread is moist and flavorful, combining the sweetness of ripe pears with the crunch of nuts. It’s perfect for breakfast or as a snack.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups (360 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup (120 g) chopped pecans

  • ¾ cup (170 g) unsalted butter
  • softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • lightly beaten
  • 2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 cups peeled and finely grated ripe
  • firm pears
  • 3 to 4 medium pears
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the lightly beaten eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, and mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in the grated pears and chopped nuts.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using a mix of nuts or adding a pinch of nutmeg to the batter.
