Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and instant yeast.
- Stir in the warm water, minced garlic, and chopped herbs until a shaggy dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel and let it sit at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours, until the surface is dotted with bubbles.
- Once risen, turn the dough onto a floured surface, shape it gently into a ball, and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a Dutch oven inside to heat up.
- Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven from the oven, grease it with olive oil, and place the dough inside.
- Cover with the lid and bake for 30 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes to achieve a crispy crust.
- Remove the bread from the Dutch oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
Notes
Letting the dough rise for an extended period allows for great flavor and texture. Adjust herbs according to your preference.
