  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • 4 nectarines
  • sliced into 1 1/2-inch thick wedges

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, ¼ cup of melted butter, and eggs, then mix well.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. In the prepared cake pan, melt the remaining ¼ cup of butter, then sprinkle brown sugar evenly over it.
  6. Arrange the nectarine wedges over the brown sugar mixture in the cake pan.
