- 1/3 cup melted butter

- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
- Mix in the baking soda and salt.
- Add the vanilla extract, beaten egg, and sugar; mix until well combined.
- Gradually fold in the flour until just combined. Do not overmix.
- If desired, fold in walnuts or pecans, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 3/4 full.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the muffins cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
