- 3/4 cup butter

- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 medium-sized eggs

- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder

- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk, until combined.
- Divide the batter into two bowls; stir cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons of milk into one bowl to create the chocolate batter.
- Spoon the batters into the prepared pan in alternating dollops, then use a knife to swirl them together for a marbled effect.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing. The marble effect can be enhanced by swirling gently with a knife.
