Spice up your barbecue with these flavorful Jalapeño Turkey Burgers topped with melted cheddar cheese and fresh ingredients.
Ingredients
2 lb ground turkey
8 fresh jalapeños seeded and finely chopped
4 oz cheddar cheese shredded
½ cup corn kernels
1 medium red onion finely chopped
2 teaspoon garlic minced
1 cup cilantro chopped
6 tablespoon olive oil plus 2 tablespoon for brushing
2 large eggs
½ cup breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
4 fresh jalapeños whole for topping
8 burger buns toasted if desired
Optional toppings: mayo

red onion
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, chopped jalapeños, cheddar cheese, corn, red onion, minced garlic, cilantro, olive oil, eggs, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into 8 equal patties. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat.
- Brush the grill or skillet with the remaining olive oil and cook the patties for about 6-8 minutes on each side or until fully cooked through.
- In the last few minutes of cooking, place a whole jalapeño on each patty to grill briefly.
- Serve the burgers on toasted buns and top with optional mayo, cheese, tomatoes, and red onions.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the turkey mixture for an hour before cooking. Adjust the number of jalapeños for your desired spice level.
