  • Italian cheese blend
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the tops off the banana peppers and remove the seeds and membranes.
  3. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté diced onion until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add minced garlic and Italian sausage, cooking until the sausage is browned and cooked through.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage mixture with softened cream cheese, grated Parmesan, egg, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Stuff each banana pepper with the sausage and cheese mixture.
  7. Place the stuffed peppers in a baking dish and pour marinara sauce over them.
  8. Top with shredded Italian cheese blend.
  9. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  10. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes to melt the cheese.
  11. Garnish with parsley before serving.
