Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • a pinch of salt
  • chocolate ganache (optional)
  • chopped nuts (optional)
  • fresh berries (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract, then gently fold together until smooth.
  2. In a saucepan, bring water and butter to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in flour and salt until fully combined. Allow to cool slightly.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, until the dough is smooth and glossy.
  4. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Spoon or pipe the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and puffed. Allow to cool before filling with the cream mixture.
  6. Fill each pastry with the cream mixture using a piping bag. Drizzle with chocolate ganache or garnish with nuts and berries if desired.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, use coconut cream in place of heavy cream and Greek yogurt for mascarpone. Feel free to customize toppings to your liking!
