- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups mascarpone cheese
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- 2 cups cooled espresso or strong coffee
- 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur
- 24 ladyfingers

Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until pale and creamy.
- Add the mascarpone cheese to the egg mixture, mixing until smooth and fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks and gently fold it into the mascarpone mixture.
- Combine cooled espresso with coffee liqueur (if using) in a shallow dish.
- Briefly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they’re soaked but not soggy.
- Layer half of the soaked ladyfingers in a serving dish and spread half of the mascarpone mixture over them.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
- Before serving, dust the top with unsweetened cocoa powder and garnish with dark chocolate curls if desired.
