- 1 cup blueberries fresh or frozen
- ½ cup sugar more or less to taste
- juice 4–5 lemons about ¾ cup juice
- peels of 2–3 lemons optional
- 1 cup water for simple syrup
- 4 cups water for lemonade
- mint lemon peels and slices blueberries for garnish optional
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and ½ cup of sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved to create a simple syrup. Remove from heat and let cool.
- In a blender, combine 1 cup of blueberries and ¾ cup of lemon juice. Blend until smooth.
- Strain the blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher, discarding the solids.
- Add the cooled simple syrup and 4 cups of water to the pitcher. Stir well to combine.
- Taste and adjust sweetness as needed. If desired, add lemon peels for added flavor.
- Serve over ice, garnished with fresh mint, lemon slices, and additional blueberries if desired.
