- 6 c. sliced pears (about 3 lbs.)
- 1 T. fresh lemon juice
- 1/3 c. granulated sugar
- 1 T. cornstarch
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 T. cold butter
- cut in small pieces
- 1/3 c. old-fashioned oats
- 1/4 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine sliced pears, fresh lemon juice, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and ground cinnamon; mix well and set aside.
- In another bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt.
- Add the cold butter pieces to the dry mixture, using a pastry cutter or your fingers to create a crumbly texture.
- Stir in the oats and chopped walnuts.
- Spread the pear mixture in a baking dish, then evenly distribute the crisp topping over the pears.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the pears are bubbling.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
