Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 oz packet active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups huckleberries
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine yeast, 1/4 cup sugar, warm milk, and water. Let it sit until foamy, about 5-10 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the egg, melted butter, and salt. Stir in the yeast mixture.
  3. Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area until doubled, about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
  6. Spread 4 tbsp melted butter on the dough and sprinkle with brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Evenly distribute huckleberries on top.
  7. Roll the dough tightly and slice into 12 equal pieces. Place in a greased baking dish.
  8. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. For frosting, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth, adding milk as needed for consistency.
  10. Drizzle over warm cinnamon rolls and enjoy!

Notes

Ensure your huckleberries are fresh for the best flavor. You can substitute blueberries if huckleberries are unavailable.
