- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter melted
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 cups huckleberries
- 4 oz cream cheese softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp milk
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine yeast, 1/4 cup sugar, warm milk, and water. Let it sit until foamy, about 5-10 minutes.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the egg, melted butter, and salt. Stir in the yeast mixture.
- Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
- Spread 4 tbsp melted butter on the dough and sprinkle with brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Evenly distribute huckleberries on top.
- Roll the dough tightly and slice into 12 equal pieces. Place in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let rise for 30 minutes. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- For frosting, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth, adding milk as needed for consistency.
- Drizzle over warm cinnamon rolls and enjoy!
