Description

Focaccia bread for sandwiches is a soft, pillowy bread topped with aromatic herbs and sea salt, perfect for creating delicious sandwiches.


Ingredients

  • 625 g. Bread Flour (about 5 cups)
  • 525 g. Warm Water (about 2 & 1/4 cups)
  • 1 packet Instant Yeast
  • 20 g Olive Oil (1 tbsp + 1 tsp)
  • 10 g Honey (1 & 1/2 tsp)
  • 12 g Fine Sea Salt (2 & 1/2 tsp)
  • 23 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 tsp Dried Rosemary
  • 1 tbsp Maldon Flaky Salt

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, honey, and instant yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add the bread flour, olive oil, and fine sea salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, about 1 to 2 hours.
  5. Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F). Grease a large baking sheet with olive oil.
  6. Turn the risen dough out onto the baking sheet and stretch it gently to fit the pan. Dimple the surface with your fingers.
  7. Drizzle olive oil on top, sprinkle with dried rosemary and Maldon flaky salt.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Let it cool slightly before slicing for sandwiches.

Notes

Allow the focaccia to rest for a few minutes after baking to enhance its flavor and texture.
