This Easy Spiced Peach Bread is the perfect way to use fresh peaches and warm spices, resulting in a moist, flavorful treat that’s great for breakfast or dessert.
Ingredients
1 cup dark brown sugar
packed
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
at room temperature
3 large eggs
at room temperature
1 3/4 cups cake flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/2 cup cultured buttermilk
2 cups diced peaches
skin on
1 tsp coarse sparkling sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the dark brown sugar and unsalted butter until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the cake flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and ground cloves.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the cultured buttermilk, and mix until just combined.
- Gently fold in the diced peaches.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle the coarse sparkling sugar on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, use ripe peaches and allow the bread to cool completely before slicing for easier serving.
