Description

This Easy Salisbury Steak recipe features juicy beef patties smothered in a rich mushroom and onion gravy, perfect for a comforting weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/3 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)
  • 1 medium onion sliced or chopped
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 3/4 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined and form into 4 patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the beef patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. Remove patties and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add butter, sliced onions, and mushrooms. Sauté until onions are translucent and mushrooms are browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the vegetable mixture and stir to combine. Gradually add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Return the beef patties to the skillet and coat with the gravy. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Serve hot with mashed potatoes or rice, and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to adjust the seasoning as per your taste. This dish pairs well with a side salad or steamed vegetables.
