Ingredients
Scale
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 medium onion thinly sliced
- 2 teaspoon fresh thyme minced
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 12 sweet rolls
- 10 slices provolone cheese
- 14 ounces sliced deli roast beef
- ½ cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 ½ tablespoons dried onion soup mix
- 1 packet au jus gravy mix
- 3 cups water
- fresh chopped parsley for garnish optional
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onion, thyme, kosher salt, and black pepper. Sauté until the onions are softened and lightly caramelized, about 10 minutes.
- While the onions are cooking, assemble the sliders. Slice the sweet rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom half on a baking sheet.
- Layer the provolone cheese on the bottom half of the rolls, followed by the sliced roast beef and the sautéed onions. Top with the other half of the rolls.
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, dried onion soup mix, and au jus gravy mix. Pour the mixture evenly over the assembled sliders.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
- Optional: garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving. Serve warm with the au jus for dipping.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add some sliced jalapeños to the sliders before baking. These can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
