- 4 overripe bananas
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter

- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar

- 2 large eggs

- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the overripe bananas until smooth.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter with the granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, and mix well.
- Add the mashed bananas to the wet mixture and combine thoroughly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and stir until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Ensure bananas are very ripe for the best flavor. You can also add nuts for extra crunch.
