- 1/2 cup granulated sugar

- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 Tablespoon salted butter
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Dash of salt
- 4 Tablespoons salted butter
- 1 cup caramel sauce for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced pears with granulated sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Toss until well coated.
- Pour the pear mixture into the unbaked pie crust and dot with pieces of salted butter.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, salt, and melted butter for the streusel topping until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the streusel topping evenly over the pear filling.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the pears are bubbly and the topping is golden.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving, and drizzle with caramel sauce if desired.
Notes
For a richer flavor, choose ripe, juicy pears. Optional caramel sauce adds an indulgent touch.
