Description
This Crispy Hot Honey Feta Chicken combines succulent chicken breasts with a spicy honey glaze and a crunchy panko crust that’s sure to please anyone at the dinner table.
Ingredients
1/3 cup / 110g Honey
1 1/2 tsp Hot Sauce (I like Frank’s or Cholula)
3/4 tsp Chilli Flakes
2x 250g/9oz Chicken Breasts
2 tsp Paprika
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp EACH: Onion Powder
Garlic Powder
Dried Oregano
Black Pepper
1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper
35g / 1/4 cup Plain Flour
2 Eggs
beaten
65g / 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
Veg Oil
as needed (6-8 tbsp)
200g / 7oz Feta
crumbled
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix the honey, hot sauce, and chilli flakes. Set aside.
- In another bowl, combine the paprika, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Coat the chicken breasts in the spice mixture, then dredge in flour, followed by beaten eggs, and finally roll in panko breadcrumbs to coat evenly.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken breasts for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer the chicken to the prepared baking tray, drizzle the honey mixture over the top, and sprinkle crumbled feta cheese on each piece.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the feta is slightly melted.
- Let cool slightly before serving with additional hot sauce if desired.
Notes
Feel free to adjust the spice level of the hot honey sauce to your personal taste. Serve with a side salad or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
