  • Kosher salt – 1¼ teaspoons
  • Black pepper – ½ teaspoon
  • Neutral oil (like peanut or canola) – about 3 cups

  • Dried oregano – ½ teaspoon

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine chicken tenders and buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, 1 teaspoon of salt, and black pepper.
  3. Heat the oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Dip each chicken tender into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s well coated, then carefully place it in the hot oil.
  5. Fry the chicken tenders in batches for about 4–5 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Use a thermometer to ensure they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
