  • zested and juiced
  • ½ cup unsalted butter

  • 1 ¼ cups white sugar
  • 1 ⅓ cups self-rising flour
  • ⅓ cup rolled oats
  • ⅔ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • or as needed to wet topping sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches with lemon zest and juice.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter and 1 ¼ cups of sugar until smooth.
  4. Mix in the self-rising flour and rolled oats, then add the milk until just combined.
