Description
These Creepy Halloween Skull Cupcakes are a spooky delight, perfect for your Halloween festivities. Decorated to resemble skulls, they’re not just fun, but deliciously rich with devil’s food flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (15.25 ounce) package devil’s food cake mix (such as Duncan Hines)
- 1 cup water
- 3 large eggs
- ⅓ cup vegetable oil
- 1 ½ (16 ounce) packages prepared vanilla frosting
- 1 (7 ounce) pouch prepared chocolate frosting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the devil’s food cake mix, water, eggs, and vegetable oil. Beat the mixture on medium speed for 2 minutes until well blended.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let them cool completely.
- Once cooled, frost each cupcake generously with the vanilla frosting to form a base.
- Use the chocolate frosting to create skull features on top of the vanilla frosting, giving each cupcake a spooky skull appearance.
Notes
For an extra touch, use candy eyes or edible decorations to enhance the skull design.
