Description

This creamy pesto sauce combines fresh basil, pine nuts, and creamy goodness, making it a delicious addition to pasta, sandwiches, or as a dip.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves packed
  • ½ cup pine nuts
  • ½ cup grated pecorino cheese or parmesan
  • 1 clove garlic peeled
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • ½ cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • ¾ – 1 cup heavy cream
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine the basil leaves, pine nuts, pecorino cheese, garlic, and lemon zest.
  2. Blend until finely chopped.
  3. While the processor is running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Transfer the pesto to a bowl and stir in the heavy cream until well combined.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. Add more cream for a lighter flavor or serve immediately for the freshest taste.
