Description

This Chicken Riesling recipe features tender chicken breasts cooked with crispy bacon and flavorful cremini mushrooms, all simmered in a creamy Riesling sauce that is sure to impress.

56 strips bacon cut into small pieces

2 large chicken breasts cut in half lengthwise

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt & pepper to taste

Flour for dredging

2 tablespoons butter

7 ounces cremini mushrooms sliced

1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning

3 cloves garlic minced

1/2 cup Riesling

3/4 cup heavy/whipping cream


Instructions

  • In a large skillet, cook the bacon pieces over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  • Season chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Dredge in flour, shaking off any excess.
  • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear until golden brown on both sides, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  • Add the mushrooms and Italian seasoning, cooking until the mushrooms are tender. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  • Pour in the Riesling and bring to a simmer. Allow to reduce for 5 minutes.
  • Reduce the heat, then stir in the heavy cream and return the bacon to the skillet. Cook for 5-10 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Serve the chicken topped with the creamy sauce.

Notes

Feel free to substitute the chicken breasts with thighs for a juicier option.
