Description
Chicken Gloria is a creamy, indulgent dish featuring tender chicken breasts smothered in a rich sauce of mushrooms and sherry, finished with melty Muenster cheese.

3 large chicken breasts
Salt & pepper to taste
Flour for dredging + 2 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 tablespoons butter (1/2 stick) divided
8 ounces cremini mushrooms sliced
2 cloves garlic minced
1/2 cup sherry dry
1.5 cups heavy/whipping cream
6 slices Muenster cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then dredge them in flour.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
- Cook the chicken breasts for about 5-7 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and sauté the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic until softened.
- Pour in the sherry and cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing it to reduce slightly.
- Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
- Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon the sauce over them.
- Top each piece of chicken with a slice of Muenster cheese.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted.
Notes
You can substitute other types of cheese if you prefer, and adjust the amount of garlic according to your taste.
