Description
Delicious and quick Chicken and Cabbage Stir Fry, perfect for a weeknight dinner. This dish combines tender chicken, crunchy cabbage, and aromatic garlic for a flavorful treat.
Ingredients
250 gram Chicken breast boneless skinless chicken breast or thigh
300 gram Cabbage
3 cloves Garlic
1 tsp Sesame oil
2–3 tbsp Cooking oil Neutral oil
2–3 Spring onion Green onions/Scallion
1 tsp Cornstarch ( Mix it with 2 tbsp water to make cornstarch slurry )
2 tsp Soy sauce for marinade
1 tsp Cornstarch for marinade
2 tsp Sesame oil for marinade
¼ tsp Baking soda for marinade
1 tbsp Soy sauce for stir fry
1 tsp Dark soy sauce for colour
1 tbsp Oyster sauce
1 tsp Shao Xing cooking wine optional
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, mix the chicken with soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and baking soda. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- Prepare the vegetables: Slice the cabbage and spring onions, and mince the garlic.
- Heat cooking oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry until cooked through, approximately 5-7 minutes.
- Add garlic and sauté for another minute, then add the cabbage and spring onions. Stir-fry until the cabbage is tender yet crisp, about 3-5 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, and Shao Xing wine, then pour over the stir-fried mixture.
- Finally, stir in the cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce. Cook for an additional minute, stirring well.
- Serve hot over rice or noodles.
Notes
Feel free to customize with other vegetables or protein. Adjust the amount of sauces according to your taste preference.
