Ingredients
Lean ground beef
Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes

cream of mushroom or chicken soup
sharp cheddar cheese
milk or heavy cream

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the lean ground beef with diced onion and minced garlic until cooked through. Drain excess fat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with cream soup, milk, and seasonings until well blended.
- Thinly slice the potatoes using a mandoline and layer half of them in a greased baking dish, followed by a layer of the beef mixture, and then half of the cheese.
- Repeat with the remaining potatoes, beef mixture, and cheese to create a second layer.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve.
