- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 2 cups cooked white rice
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk or beef broth
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp paprika
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking until softened.
- Stir in the cooked rice, cream of mushroom soup, milk or beef broth, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. Leftover rice works great for this recipe.
