- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breast cubed
- 16 ounces andouille sausage sliced
- 1 medium white onion diced
- 4 medium celery ribs sliced
- 1 medium green bell pepper diced
- 1 medium jalapeno minced
- 4 cloves minced garlic
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 (15 ounce cans) great northern beans drained
- 1/2 pound raw shrimp peeled

- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the cubed chicken and sausage, and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the onion, celery, bell pepper, jalapeno, and garlic; sauté until the vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the cumin, smoked paprika, chili powder, and cayenne pepper; cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mixture, stirring to coat everything evenly.
- Pour in the chicken broth while stirring, and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Add the great northern beans and shrimp; cook for about 10 minutes or until the shrimp are pink and fully cooked.
- Finally, stir in the heavy cream and simmer for an additional 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Feel free to adjust the spice levels according to your taste preference. This chili can be made ahead of time and frozen for easy meals.
