- 1 puff pastry sheet
- thawed overnight in the fridge
- 3/4 cup apricot jam
- divided
- 1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- divided
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- pinch Kosher salt
- 2 Granny Smith apples
- cored and sliced into 1/4” thick slices
- 1 egg
- beaten
- 4 tablespoons cold butter
- cubed
- vanilla ice cream
- for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and fit it into a tart pan, trimming excess.
- Spread 1/2 cup of apricot jam evenly over the pastry base.
- In a bowl, mix 1/4 cup granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt.
- Toss the sliced apples with the sugar mixture until well coated.
- Arrange the apple slices over the jam on the pastry.
- Dot the top with cubed cold butter.
- Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the apples are tender and the pastry is golden brown.
- Let it cool slightly, then serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
For a sweeter tart, adjust the sugar levels to your taste. Serve warm for the best flavor experience.
