- 1 cup apple cider
- ¼ cup light brown sugar packed
- 2 Tablespoons unsalted butter
- ½ teaspoon apple pie spice
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 2 Tablespoons apple cider syrup
- ¼ cup espresso or strong coffee
- 1 cup 2% milk
- caramel syrup for drizzle optional
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the apple cider, light brown sugar, unsalted butter, apple pie spice, and cornstarch. Cook over medium heat until the mixture thickens and bubbles, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the apple cider syrup from heat and let it cool slightly. Strain if desired to remove any solids.
- In a coffee cup, add 2 Tablespoons of the apple cider syrup followed by the espresso or strong coffee.
- Warm the 2% milk in a saucepan or frother until hot, then froth it if desired.
- Pour the warmed milk over the coffee and apple cider syrup mixture.
- Drizzle with caramel syrup or additional apple cider syrup if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For an even richer flavor, consider using freshly brewed espresso and whole milk instead of 2%.
