- 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 1/2 cups cold milk
- 4 cups cubed pound cake or vanilla wafers
- 3 large apples
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup prepared caramel sauce
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to mix until well blended.
- Fold in the thawed whipped topping until fully incorporated.
- In another bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes until thickened.
- Gently fold the pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture until combined.
- In a separate bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- To assemble the trifle, layer half of the cubed pound cake or vanilla wafers in the bottom of a trifle dish, followed by half of the pudding mixture, half of the apples, and half of the caramel sauce.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
- Drizzle additional caramel sauce on top before serving. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before enjoying.
