Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Add the cold cubed butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the pumpkin puree and heavy cream until just combined.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, form it into a disk about 1 inch thick, and cut it into triangles or rounds.
- Place the scones on the prepared baking sheet, brush the tops with beaten egg, and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm.
