Ingredients
300 grams of pasta (penne or fusilli work well)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion
finely chopped
2 cloves garlic
minced
400 grams ground lamb or beef
1 can (400 grams) diced tomatoes
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup yogurt (for serving)
Fresh parsley
chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large pot, boil water and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, then add chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until soft.
- Add the ground lamb or beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, paprika, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes to blend flavors.
- Combine the cooked pasta with the meat sauce, tossing to coat evenly.
- Serve the pasta warm, topped with yogurt and garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
You can substitute ground lamb with beef as per your preference. This dish pairs well with a side salad.
