Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (6–7 oz each)
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup chicken broth (low sodium)
½ cup heavy cream
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (garnish)
Optional: juice of ½ lemon
Instructions
Prepare the Chicken: Pat dry with paper towels. Pound to even thickness (¾ inch).
Season: Mix garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, thyme, salt, pepper, and cayenne. Rub onto both sides of chicken.
Sear: Heat skillet over medium-high. Add 2 tbsp butter + olive oil. Sear chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
Build Sauce: Reduce heat. Add remaining butter and garlic. Sauté 1 minute. Pour in broth, scraping browned bits. Stir in cream and Parmesan. Simmer 3–4 minutes until thickened.
Finish Cooking: Return chicken to skillet. Spoon sauce over. Cover and cook 6–8 minutes until internal temp reaches 165°F (74°C).
Garnish and Rest: Add lemon juice if using. Sprinkle parsley. Rest 5 minutes before serving.

Use a thermometer to avoid overcooking.
Fresh Parmesan yields the best sauce texture.
Resting chicken helps keep juices locked in.
Add mushrooms for depth or mozzarella for extra cheesiness.
