Ingredients
For savory rolls (8 pieces):
1 can (8 oz / 226 g) refrigerated crescent roll dough
120 g (1 cup) shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or pepper jack)
150 g (1 cup) cooked protein (ham, turkey, chicken, or sausage)
2 tablespoons cream cheese (optional)
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted (for brushing)
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon dried Italian herbs (optional)
Pinch of salt and black pepper
For sweet rolls (8 pieces):
2 tablespoons fruit preserves or Nutella
2 tablespoons cream cheese or mascarpone
1 teaspoon powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
Prepare dough – Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment. Separate crescent dough triangles.
Add filling – Place 1–2 tbsp filling at the wide end. For savory: add meat + cheese. For sweet: jam/Nutella + cream cheese.
Roll – Roll from wide to pointed end. Tuck edges to seal. Place seam-side down.
Brush – Mix butter, garlic, herbs, salt, pepper. Brush tops. (For sweet, use plain butter only.)
Bake – 12–15 minutes, until golden brown and puffed.
Cool & serve – Rest 5 minutes before eating. Serve warm.
Notes
Avoid overfilling (1–2 tbsp max).
Seal edges well to prevent leaks.
Parchment paper prevents sticking.
Reheat in oven, not microwave, for crispness.
