8 oz cream cheese

cut into small cubes

2 cups fresh strawberries

sliced

6 large eggs

2 cups whole milk

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup light brown sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon butter

for greasing baking dish

Powdered sugar

for garnish


Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
  • In a large bowl, combine the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, light brown sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt. Whisk together until well combined.
  • Layer half of the cubed French bread in the prepared baking dish, followed by half of the cream cheese cubes and half of the sliced strawberries. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
  • Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and fruit layers. Press down gently to ensure the bread absorbs the custard.
  • Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the liquid.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
