Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the cream of tartar, vanilla extract, and optional almond extract, mixing until fully combined.
- Gradually add in the all-purpose flour, stirring until a soft dough forms.
- If desired, mix in green food coloring to achieve your preferred shade of green.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick and use cookie cutters to cut out shapes.
- Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet, sprinkle with green sanding sugar, and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
