Ingredients
2 sheets puff pastry
defrosted (17-ounce package)
2 tablespoons cream-style horseradish
2 cups shredded Gruyère
⅔ cup caramelized onions
8 strips bacon cooked crisp and crumbled
1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface into a rectangular shape.
- Spread a layer of cream-style horseradish over the entire surface of the pastry.
- Sprinkle the shredded Gruyère, caramelized onions, crumbled bacon, and chopped thyme evenly over the horseradish layer.
- Carefully roll the pastry sheets into tight logs from both ends, meeting in the center.
- Slice the rolled pastry into 1/2-inch thick pieces and place them cut side up on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the palmiers are golden brown and puffed up.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
Notes
These palmiers can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking. Just add a few extra minutes to the baking time if baking from frozen.
