Description
Indulge in the savory delight of pan-seared steak, perfectly seasoned and cooked to juicy perfection. Great for meal prep, this recipe is sure to impress.
Ingredients
Scale
2 lbs New York Strip Steaks
1/2 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 1/2 tsp sea salt
1 tsp black pepper
2 Tbsp unsalted butter
2 cloves garlic
1 sprig fresh rosemary
Instructions
- Begin by bringing the steaks to room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking.
- Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add the steaks to the skillet without overcrowding. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on the first side until a brown crust forms.
- Flip the steaks and add butter, garlic, and rosemary to the skillet. Baste the steaks with the melted butter mixture for another 4-5 minutes, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a cutting board for at least 5 minutes before slicing.
- Slice the steaks against the grain and serve with your favorite sides or pack for meal prep.
Notes
For optimal flavor, choose steaks that have good marbling. Adjust cooking time based on preferred doneness: rare, medium, or well-done.
