Description
Crispy chicken wings coated in a sticky honey soy garlic glaze. Sweet, savory, and bold in flavor, these wings make the perfect appetizer or main course for parties, game days, or family dinners.
Ingredients
2 pounds (900 g) chicken wings, separated into flats and drumettes
½ cup (120 ml) low-sodium soy sauce
⅓ cup (110 g) honey
3 tablespoons (45 ml) rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons (30 g) brown sugar
1 tablespoon (15 ml) sesame oil
5 cloves garlic, minced (about 2 tablespoons)
1 tablespoon (15 g) fresh ginger, grated
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (slurry)
1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish
2 green onions, thinly sliced, for garnish
Instructions
Step 1 – Prepare the Marinade
Whisk soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
Step 2 – Marinate the Chicken
Pat wings dry. Place in a bag or dish, pour half the marinade over them, and refrigerate 1–4 hours. Reserve the rest.
Step 3 – Preheat the Oven
Set oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a tray with foil and place a wire rack on top.
Step 4 – Bake the Wings
Arrange wings in a single layer. Bake 35–40 minutes, flipping once.
Step 5 – Make the Glaze
Simmer reserved marinade in a saucepan. Stir in cornstarch slurry until glossy.
Step 6 – Coat the Wings
Toss baked wings with glaze in a large bowl until coated.
Step 7 – Garnish and Serve
Sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve hot.
Notes
Marinate overnight for deeper flavor.
For extra crispiness, broil for 2–3 minutes after baking.
Air fryer method: 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes.
