Homemade Vanilla Cinnamon Milk Tea is a soothing beverage that combines the warm flavors of vanilla and cinnamon in a delightful tea experience, perfect for relaxing any time of the day, either hot or iced.
Ingredients
1 cup water
1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
1 cinnamon stick (or 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon)
1 vanilla bean
split and scraped (or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract)
1 teaspoon of loose-leaf black tea or 1 black tea bag (optional)
Sweetener of choice (sugar
honey
or other sweetener)
to taste
1 star anise (optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil.
- Add the cinnamon stick and bring to a simmer for about 5 minutes to infuse the flavor.
- Stir in the milk and the split vanilla bean (or vanilla extract), and heat gently without boiling.
- If using black tea, add the loose-leaf black tea or tea bag and steep for 3-5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and sweeten to taste with your choice of sweetener.
- Strain the tea into a cup and serve hot, or chill in the refrigerator for an iced version.
- Garnish with star anise if desired and enjoy!
Notes
For a creamier texture, use whole milk or a rich plant-based milk. Adjust the sweetness according to your preference.
