Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour (250g)
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
6 Tablespoons unsalted butter very cold (85g)
¾ cup whole milk¹ (177ml)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the milk until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times before rolling it to about 1 inch thickness.
- Cut out biscuits using a round cutter and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For best results, ensure your butter is very cold before mixing it into the dry ingredients. You can also add herbs or cheese for a twist.
