6 Tablespoons unsalted butter very cold (85g)

¾ cup whole milk¹ (177ml)


Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  • Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in the milk until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  • Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times before rolling it to about 1 inch thickness.
  • Cut out biscuits using a round cutter and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
